Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how evnt.id ("we," "us," or "evnt.id") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use evnt.id (the "Service"). The Service runs on the CloudSocial platform, which we license as our community software.

1. Who's responsible for your data

evnt.id is the data controller for personal information processed about your use of evnt.id.

CloudSocial acts as our data processor — they store and serve your data on our behalf under contractual data-processing terms. See CloudSocial's own privacy policy for details on what they do as a platform.

2. What we collect

Account information you give us

  • Email address, name, and password (or OAuth identity if you sign in with Google or GitHub)
  • Profile information: display name, bio, avatar, country/city, and any custom fields you fill in
  • Payment details if you upgrade to a paid plan or RSVP to a paid event. Card numbers are handled directly by Stripe; we don't store them.

Content you create

  • Posts, comments, reactions, poll/list/quiz responses, list items you add, recipes, shoppable-image pins
  • Direct messages, chat messages, forum posts
  • Event RSVPs, including deposit amounts and refund status
  • Files and images you upload (stored on Cloudflare R2)

Usage information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referrer URL
  • Pages viewed, time spent, post view counts (aggregated)
  • Login timestamps and last-active timestamps
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7)

Information from third parties

  • If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your email and name from that provider
  • If you pay through Stripe, we receive payment status, the last four digits of your card, and other transaction metadata (never your full card number)

3. How we use it

We use your personal information to:

  • Provide and operate the Service (create your account, render the feed, deliver notifications, run events)
  • Process payments for paid plans, paid event RSVPs, and refunds
  • Communicate with you about your account, your content, and the Service (transactional email)
  • Improve the Service — for example, by analysing how features are used in aggregate
  • Enforce our Terms of Service, prevent abuse, and protect the safety of the community
  • Comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, valid law-enforcement requests)

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Who we share it with

  • CloudSocial — as our data processor (hosting, software, infrastructure)
  • Stripe — for payment processing and refunds
  • Resend — for transactional email delivery
  • Cloudflare R2 — for file storage (images, uploads)
  • Anthropic Claude — when you use AI-assisted content features. Prompts are sent to Anthropic's API; we don't store them with Anthropic past completion.
  • Other community members — anything you post in a space is visible to other members of that space, subject to the space's visibility and plan-gating settings
  • Legal authorities — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property

5. International transfers

evnt.id is based in the United States. Our infrastructure providers (CloudSocial, Stripe, Cloudflare, Resend, Anthropic) operate globally. By using the Service you consent to your information being processed in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws than your own.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account data: for as long as your account is active, and for up to 12 months after you delete your account (for accounting, dispute resolution, and abuse prevention)
  • Content: posts and comments are soft-deleted on request — they're hidden from the UI but retained for 12 months in case of disputes, then purged
  • Payment records: retained for 7 years to comply with US tax law
  • Server logs: 90 days

7. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the Service to function (session cookie, CSRF token, remember-me token if you opt in). We also use a small amount of first-party analytics to understand how features are used. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and your content (subject to our retention periods above)
  • Export your content (posts, comments, profile) in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where we rely on it

To exercise any of these rights, email None. We respond within 30 days.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes to this Policy

We'll post material changes to this Policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the community.
